Nine months old

My baby boy! Three months until you’re ONE! What? It seems like your first year flew by faster than your sister’s.  I am soaking up every bit of baby that I can.  You are crawling like a champ and have one tooth coming in, on the bottom.  You have dealt well with teething, so far and your tooth popped up without any troubles.  I’m thankful for that and hope it continues.  You are letting go of things when you are standing and continue to get braver and stand longer all the time.

Kendall makes you laugh uncontrollably and so easily.  I absolutely love watching you two play.  Your sister already calls you her best friend and it melts my heart.  She looks after you and always wants to “make sure Ethan doesn’t cry, okay mom?” We will always watch out for you, buddy.  You have started saying da da da lately and are really good at making the ga sound.  So far, no mama but I’m working on it.

I love you, my boy! I love snuggling with you, kissing your little cheeks. I love that you smile when you see me and come crawling so fast. I love that you’re a mommy’s boy right now.  I love your laugh and your smile.  I love you (and your sister) to the moon and back!

Six months old

We didn’t make it to Columbia for our Aunt Michelle photo session so these pictures from my phone will have to suffice.  These were taken at Ryan’s uncle’s home in Mauldin, SC.  Such a perfect back drop for my not so perfect photography skills.

Hard to believe it’s been half a year since we met our sweet boy.  He is such a delight.  Always smiling with his wide open gummy grin and his big blue eyes.  He is so fair skinned and has such light hair, still.  I’m wondering if he’ll keep his blue eyes? I sure hope so. image Ethan can sit very well on his own.  I know he is thinking, “what else can I do besides sit here?” but just can’t figure out his next trick yet.  Don’t worry buddy, you’ll get there soon enough.  He is eating a variety of food and loves every minute of it.  It’s the cutest thing to watch him eat his puffs right now.  He is also learning to drink from a sippy cup and doing quite well.   Kendall continues to light up his day and can make him smile and laugh so quickly.  I.LOVE.IT!! Sometimes I make Kendall play with him on purpose just so I can see the two of them interact.  Shh!! Nobody tell Kendall.  Although she loves it just the same!imageimage We love you so very much sweet boy and I know I will say that to you and your sister more than you will probably want to hear.  You are so laid back and easy going! I’m so glad to be your mom!imageimage

The beach

I have been curious how Kendall would handle the beach this year so we packed up some things and made our way to the Isle of Palms with grandma and grandpa.  What an adventure!

Kendall was all about playing in the sand and loved having her bucket filled with water. However, getting in the water was a different story.  I tried once and so did grandma but it wasn’t her favorite thing.  Maybe, when we try again she’ll have warmed up.image Ethan slept for the first few hours of his first trip to the beach but then joined us for some fun.  He didn’t mind the water or the sand between his baby toes.  A wave caught him off guard but he just sat there and watched as the water trickled over his little legs.  Such a content little boy! image image I do believe Kendall’s favorite part was smashing sand castles with grandpa.  We made sure the people who built it were gone and she went to town.  Silly girl!image We had a terrific time.  Thank you to my parents for making this a fun, enjoyable experience for all.imageUntil next time, beach.  Thanks for the fun in the sun! image                                                                                     (Please overlook the quality of all the phone pictures).

Being silly!

We were playing in the playroom today and Kendall wanted to take a picture.  She loves for me to take pictures of her and Ethan with my phone.  I put the camera function in reverse so we both could see the screen and started snapping away.  I told her to make silly faces and this is the best she would do.  She was too busy trying to figure out why she could see herself. image Ethan was making some of the sweetest noises that I wish I would have recorded but all I remembered to get were these chubby cheeks!  I love these two so very much!image

Ethan’s photo shoot

Who can pass up a photo shoot with Aunt Michelle? Not me! I had to have a newborn session with my baby boy as I did with my baby girl.  Ethan was twenty one days old and did fairly well.  He wanted to stay awake so he got a little fussy at times but he gave us some good pictures.

I love newborn pictures with just a diaper.   We used a few blankets and baskets, even a chair to pose this little cutie, although we aren’t the most creative baby posers.  Enjoy the pictures! image image image imageOne of my favorites!! image Can you see his little smirk?imageEthan had to show off his Carolina onesie before it is too small. Don’t worry, I have a Michigan one too, its just a bigger size. We’re a house divided!imageSo sweet! imageMe and my son, love him.imageimageI always love all of the pictures my sister takes of my babies.   These are just a select few. Thank you so much for capturing Ethan in his newborn stage.  We’ll be seeing more of you along the way.
