Kendall’s Baptism Day

Today was so very special for our family.  We headed to Midland Park Methodist church to baptize our baby girl.  She looked beautiful in our family gown and it means a lot to me that she was able to carry on the tradition of wearing it. It was such a perfect day!image imagePastor Cec Jenkin baptized her and also married Ryan and me. imagegrantfamily It was such nice weather to take pictures outside.  We were able to enjoy a nice luncheon at the Grant’s to celebrate this day as an extended family. imageimageThank you for making the cake, Aunt Michelle. Everyone really enjoyed it!image

So sweet!

I couldn’t help but post this picture. It was taken at Jack’s birthday party, courtesy of Landon Jacob photography! What a sweet picture of a dad and his daughter.image

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

The picture on the left is one of my favorites of my dad with Kendall.  My sister has one just like it of him with Jack.  It is so precious. The one on the right was so special for me to capture.  She made eye contact with him and just smiled, so did he. Thank you so much for all you do for me, Grandpa! I hope you have a fantastic birthday with many more to come.  image Love,

Ryan, Lindsey and Kendall

Silly baby

So, when I went to get Kendall from her crib this morning, this is how I found her.  She loves to be wrapped in her miracle blanket for naps and at bedtime. This is the first time I have seen her get a leg out.  I tried to quick capture this picture on my iPhone before she got too upset, she was ready to eat. When I looked over the crib, she greeted me with this smile.  What a way to start the day!!image

2 month well check

We went for your 2 month well check today, sweet pea, although you are just 7 weeks old tomorrow.  You are growing so fast and you are right on target with all of the milestones that Dr. Nordby asks about. You were given 4 vaccines today, one in your right thigh, two in your left thigh and one was oral. The oral one was a piece of cake for you. Mommy was nervous about the injections but you didn’t even shed a tear, you only got red in the face for a few seconds.  Once mommy picked you up to comfort you, you calmed down right away.

We left the office with a clean bill of health. Good job, baby girl! Keep up the good work.image

Jack turns ONE

Today is Jack’s FIRST birthday.  We woke up and were ready to head to the “circus” in Columbia.  Michelle did an incredible job with all of the decorations, arts and crafts, invitations and even the food.  I think it would be safe to say she could add party planner to her list of talents.  It was amazing!!imageThere was cotton candy, circus cookies, salt water taffy, candy buttons and popcorn galore.image All of the kids were able to take home bubbles and a connect-the-dot circus tent picture they were able to color any way they pleased. (You can see the circus tent picture in the lower right, near the back. I forgot to get a close up).  imageThe birthday boy had his own very special chair and very special smash cake. image He wasn’t quite sure what to do with his cake at first. Mommy and daddy helped him figure it out.imageI also forgot to get a picture of the birthday boy with his mom and dad, together.  imageWe had such a fun time at your party sweet boy and cant wait for more birthdays to come!! image Thank you for the fun goodie bag after the circus was done. Very creative indeed!image

Our baby is growing….fast

I love waking up every morning to your sweet face baby girl! Watching your eyes get adjusted to the light is too cute. You are accomplishing new things every day and I always hope I am camera ready to capture each one of them.  You are starting to smile so much more every day and they seem to get bigger and bigger. Your daddy and I love you so much and it is amazing how much our love grows for you as the days pass. Yet again another week has passed and you are 6 weeks old today! I am so thankful we were chosen to be your parents! I think I might say how much we love you and how thankful we are over and over again! I feel so blessed to have you in our life, sweet girl!

Love- Mommy and DaddyimageYou make faces during tummy time and you almost don’t fit in your Moses basket anymore. imageI had fun trying to pose you for some 1st Valentine pictures! You were a good sport. imageYou sit on the couch with us and hang out with your cat lovey when you are in the bassinet. Thanks for the lovey Grandma Singer.

The bassinet has been used in my family for around 80 years.  I am so happy to be able to use the bassinet for our first born daughter. Traditions are very meaningful in our family.  I like to think of my Grandma laying my mom down in the bassinet for a nap as I now do to my very own baby girl. Many babies through four generations have had their turn in the bassinet.

“Southern” winter wonderland

I was amazed to see the amount of snow that accumulated over night.  The weathermen were predicting 1-4 inches in our area but I was not convinced until I saw it! Boy, did they prove me wrong! We stayed out long enough to get a few pictures and then it was back inside for these southerners.  image Our neighbor’s tree and a view of the pond from our back door.image Our poor Crepe Myrtle branches were completely white.imageI forgot to get a picture of one of the snowmen but I thought these pictures were pretty too.

Snow Day

It’s a rare sight in South Carolina to see snow but on February 12, 2010, we saw it! Ryan and I went out to catch a glimpse as it was falling, it was so pretty. I couldn’t wait until morning to take Kendall out to see it and take pictures with her. image

Just swinging

Kendall loves her swing!  She is starting to notice the bee and butterfly that hang from above but for the most part she is so curious about what is around her.  I know I didn’t get much of the swing but I just couldn’t pass up on these smiles.  She has started cooing and smiling so much when we talk to her and it melts our heart!  Sweet girl!image

Four weeks old

Baby girl, it is so hard to believe that 4 weeks ago today we were in the hospital waiting to meet you.  You have brought so much joy and happiness to your daddy and me and we are so lucky to be your parents!  We have watched you grow and learn so much in such a short time and we are just amazed!  You nurse every 3 hours and sleep 3 1/2 to 4 hour stretches at night with naps ranging from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.    We pray for your continuous health and happiness and can’t wait to see what is in store for us in the days, weeks, months and years to come! imageYou are learning to like your playmat and think the butterfly toy is pretty neat, it plays music.imageThe Miracle Blanket has been helping you sleep long stretches through the night. image Mommy and daddy love to play with you and talk to you when you have tummy time.  You are able to hold your head up so well and sometimes even get your upper body off of the floor a little.  Mommy is pretty sure it was an accident, but today during tummy time, you managed to roll onto your left shoulder and then to your back. It happened three times but I don’t think you really knew what you were doing! You aren’t supposed to know that kind of stuff yet, you’re our little baby.   Mommy was so excited though, and called Daddy to share the news.  You are especially happy when you lay on your back because you are able to kick your little legs and look around at everything, such an explorer.

We love you sweet pea!!

Photo shoot

Thank goodness we have a professional photographer in the family. I couldn’t wait for Aunt Michelle to capture images of Kendall.  She has such an eye for priceless pictures and I was more than excited to have a little model for her.  I am so in love with all of the pictures she took but chose some of my favorites for this post.  Lil’ miss is so photogenic already and she was only 13 days old for her first photo shoot.imageimageimage
