Take me out to the ballgame…

We decided last minute to join some friends at the Charleston Riverdogs game and I am so very glad we did.  Ethan stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and Kendall went on her first mommy and daddy date.  She had a blast and it made me so happy to watch her little eyes take in all of the excitement and watch the fun she was having.  This was her first game but surely won’t be her last.

She wanted some cotton candy before we even got to our seats and she couldn’t sit down fast enough to have it opened.  She was good at sharing with her friends too.  imageimage  Phone break and self portraits!image I tried multiple times to get a picture of my baby and me and this is all I got (don’t mind my blue tinted lips from the cotton candy).  Can you see her finger almost jabbing me in the eye in the third picture? She was over the pictures!imageAnd a stadium cup of diet coke (only a few sips) to finish off the night and wash down the cotton candy while watching the fireworks.  The fireworks were too hard to catch on my camera but she sat so still for the entire display.  I can’t wait to take her back to another game.  What fun!! image

Elephants and tigers but no bears

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus came to town for four days and we decided to go on opening night.  The tickets were half price and I wasn’t sure how Kendall would do for two reasons, mostly because it was so close to bedtime but also she would have to be in a seated area for a lengthy amount of time.  She did great!  It was incredible and to say Kendall loved it is an understatement.  She had a blast and so did her momma and daddy!  There was only one time I thought we were going to have to leave.  There were horses performing and she wanted to go touch them.  We explained to her that we had to stay in our seats with our friends and she was okay with that.  image Kendall, Stryker and Faith all were treated to a glow necklace by daddy.  Can you tell they were a hit? The lights flickered in different colors and patterns, it kept Kendall quite occupied!imageCan you tell they are into it? (Please forgive the red eye, I need to learn to edit).image So much fun!imageKendall did not hold still for many pictures at all. This is the best we could get of the three of us, with the iPhone, using self portrait, with Kendall shoving cotton candy in her mouth. imageAnd, the way home. Zonked! She was awake and smiling the entire show.  I think we will be going again next year, for sure!  Our seats were great, on the second level and too far away for good pictures but perfect for a bouncing two year old.  All of the kids could stand up if they wanted  which was just what we needed since it was a two hour show.  I know I cant wait until next year.image

A summer morning

Kendall and I met Stryker, Rachel and Dan at Middleton Park this morning for a fundraising event.  There was a clown, a jump castle, a water slide, a DJ and Kendall’s new favorite, snow cones.  She and I split two of them, although the first one she wasn’t too sure about.  When it was time for the second, she stood right next to me until it was all gone. Such a treat for a steamy summer day. (please excuse the scrape between her eyes, the toy won but she’s fine).  Kendall tried the jump castle but it wasn’t long enough for me to get a picture.  She was quick!image Rachel got a new camera recently and this is a picture she took today. I love it!imageStryker had a blast on the water slide, with a little help from his daddy.imageWe braved the heat as long as we could and then headed home for some lunch and the A/C.  Thanks for the fun play date, Gehlken’s.  Can’t wait for the next one!

Boat Day

We took Kendall on the boat for the first time today with some friends.  Nine of us piled on to the Gehlken’s boat and made our way from the river to the lake.  We had three kids in tow, so we were unsure on how the ride would go.  It was perfect.  Kendall wasn’t too keen on the wind in the beginning but quickly got used to it and didn’t mind it one bit.

Kendall wanted to try on Stryker’s arm floaties and loved every minute of wearing them.  She liked to kick her feet in the water and watch all of the splashing she did.image Faith eating her sandwich while we were in the locks and sweet Mr. Stryker, “cheesin.”image Kendall had to touch every speaker and button she found around the boat and danced to the music at the same time.  She made her way around the inside of the boat like a pro.image

I didn’t bring my camera on the water for fear of getting it wet and we were cautious as well with our phones, hence the lack of pictures. It sure was a fun day! Can’t wait until next time.

Over the weekend….

We had lots of fun!  Friday we headed to Mt. Pleasant to celebrate Emory’s birthday.  We didn’t make it to the party with all of the kids because it was during Kendall’s nap time but we did enjoy dinner afterward with all of the family.image Saturday, after I ran my first 5K with my friends Rachel and Sabrina, we headed over for a play date.  The weather was beautiful and Stryker has a lot of fun outside toys to play with.  Kendall enjoyed jumping in the trampoline as long as she was the only one jumping.  It took her a little bit longer to get used to it if Stryker jumped too.  She just laughed and laughed when she was inside!image When we were done playing, we headed out to the annual, Old North Charleston block party for a St. Patty’s day celebration.  This was our second year, as a group, heading out to the festivities.  Last year we got rained out and by time we made it to the car, the rain was gone however, we headed home anyway.  This year Kendall and Stryker enjoyed cookies, listening to the bands, dancing and watching all of the crazy adults dressed in green! It was a lot of fun this year and we definitely look forward to next years celebration.  Such a fun tradition!imageSunday, we hung out around the house, played outside, went to the park, went to the grocery store and had an extra long bath…..lazy day.  Sorry, no pictures on that day.  I was too busy running after her and being somewhat sore after the run that photos weren’t on my list of priority.
